Kick start your career in the construction industry or refresh your skills to maintain employment with Signature Training College’s CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White Card) course. This is a Nationally Recognised qualification and is a compulsory requirement for anybody who wishes to work in the industry.

  • This is SafeWork NSW approved General Construction Induction Training (GIT) for the purposes of gaining a White Card or Construction Induction Card (CIC).
  • Upon successful completion of the training, participants will receive a Statement of Training (SOT) from SafeWork NSW valid for 60 days. You can start work with this SoT immediately.

Accreditation

Signature Training College is registered with and accredited by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and is authorised to deliver Nationally Recognized Training within the Australian Qualifications Framework.
Students are required to:
  • Have sound language and literacy skills
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
  • Provide a valid ID with his/her picture and signature
  • Undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy Evaluation
 
  • Identify and understand roles, responsibilities and rights of duty holders
  • Understand OHS communication and reporting processes
  • Apply the principles of risk management
  • Identify common hazards and control measures
  • Interpret and apply safety information and documentation
  • Use safe work practices
  • Respond to OHS incidents
There is  mandatory work placement requirement of 7 hours for completing this qualification. The learners are required to complete the knowledge based and practical skill component of the course in order to receive the Statement of Attaiment.

Education pathways after completing CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry may include:
  • CPC20220 - Certificate II in Construction Pathways
  • RII30912 - Certificate III in Civil Construction
Candidates must bring one form of original photo ID on the day of the course (passport, Australian Drivers License or RTA Proof of Age Card).
If you are a new enrolling student, undertaking Nationally recognized training, you will need a USI number to receive your Qualification/Statement of Attainment. If you do not have a USI you will not be able to receive a qualification. To create a USI account, go to the website: www.usi.gov.au
