This qualification reflects the roles of workers in a range of community settings and candidates’ homes, who provide training and support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing.
Workers promote a person-centred approach, work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.
Upon successful completion of all units of competency for this qualification, the student will be awarded CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support.
This qualification will provide you a pathway to work as Lifestyle Support officer, Community Development Officer, Senior Personal Care Assistant, Behavioural Support Officer, Disability Team leader, Disability Support Assistant (Schools), Day Support Disability Officer, Senior Disability Worker, Social Educator (Disability), Support Facilitator (Disability), Disabilities Supervisor and Disability Service Officer
Important Note: Completion of this course is not guaranteed and is subject to students successfully meeting all training, assessment, attendance, work placement (where applicable), and course requirements. Students who do not complete all requirements may be eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) for successfully completed units of competency.
