The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support will qualify students to work in aged care facilities, the community and supported residential services. Aged Care facilities include private, public, retirement villages, nursing homes and hostels. Workers report directly to a supervisor and are not responsible for other workers.
  • Upon successful completion of all units of competency for this qualification, the student will be awarded CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support.

  • This qualification will provide you a pathway to work in aged care facilities, the community and supported residential services. Aged Care facilities include private, public, retirement villages, nursing homes and hostels.

Students are required to:
  • A proficient level of English is required, however your English level will be assessed on application. You will also need to have the following:
  • Should be 18 years old or above
  • The ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
  • Be physically capable to undertake manual and the physical tasks required in this role including manual handling using equipment in an aged care setting.
  • Have the ability to communicate sensitively with a wide background of people
  • have personal attributes necessary including punctuality, personal hygiene and good presentation.
  • If you are undertaking HLTAID011 - PROVIDE FIRST AID training with us, please advise staff prior if you have problems with your back and knees or general mobility. First aid will require you to participate in physical activity which may aggregate existing injuries.

This qualification requires Flu Shot before going to Work-Placement because it is a mandatory requirement for some of the facilities. The students must complete at least 120 hours of work placement  complete this component of the course.

Education pathways after completing CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support may include:
  • CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support 
  • CHC52021 Diploma of Community Services.
If you are a new enrolling student, undertaking Nationally recognized training, you will need a USI number to receive your Qualification/Statement of Attainment. If you do not have a USI you will not be able to receive a qualification. To create a USI account, go to the website: www.usi.gov.au
