The CHC53315 Diploma for Mental Health is the formal qualification equipping workers to provide services to clients in relation to mental health issues. This course will train students to be able to provide counselling, referral, advocacy and education/health promotion services. The students in this course will be trained to have high level specialist knowledge, skills and competencies especially in regard to laws affecting people with mental health issues, the range of services available to them and health issues related to mental health.

  • Upon successful completion of all units of competency for this qualification, the student will be awarded CHC53315 Diploma of Mental Health.

  • This qualification will provide you a pathway to work as Community rehabilitation and support worker, Welfare support worker and Community rehabilitation worker

 

Important Note: Completion of this course is not guaranteed and is subject to students successfully meeting all training, assessment, attendance, work placement (where applicable), and course requirements. Students who do not complete all requirements may be eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) for successfully completed units of competency. Employment, licensing, registration, or specific career outcomes are not guaranteed upon course completion.

Students are required to:
  • A good ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance Certificate and Work with Children Check; 
  • Ability to work and communicate respectfully with background from different national backgrounds; 
  • Obtain a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
  • Provide a valid ID with picture and signature
  • Undertake a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) Skills Test

Accreditation

Signature Training College is registered with and accredited by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and is authorised to deliver Nationally Recognised Training within the Australian Qualifications Framework.

The students must complete at least 160 hours of work placement complete this component of the course

Upon completion of the CHC53315 Diploma of Mental Health, students may have pathways into further study in community services, mental health, counselling, social work, and other related health disciplines. Acceptance into further qualifications is subject to the admission policies and entry requirements of the receiving institution.
If you are a new enrolling student, undertaking Nationally recognized training, you will need a USI number to receive your Qualification/Statement of Attainment. If you do not have a USI you will not be able to receive a qualification. To create a USI account, go to the website: www.usi.gov.au
