CHC30113:Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care

What will I learn?

The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care will ensure you are a professional childhood educator who carries out tasks in compliance with the requirements of the Education and Care Services National regulations and the National Quality Standard.

Through the CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care is a prerequisite introductory course that will introduce you to working in the field of early childhood and provide education and care to children in a range of services. 

The course will give you the necessary skills to be able to help plan and deliver educational programs that focus on supporting children's wellbeing, learning and development. It is the minimum qualification to gain employment in ACECQA approved early childhood services and often the qualification studied for those wanting to begin their career in early childhood education.

Holding a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care will improve your job prospects in the following roles in the sector: 

  • Assistant Educator in long day care, child care centres, occasional care
  • Assistant Educator in a Kindergarten or preschool program
  • Assistant Educator in occasional care
  • Family Day Care Educator
  • In Home Care Provider/nanny
  • Playgroup Supervisor
  • Other education based employers may accept this qualification, such as working as a tutor, education support staff or as a teacher aide.

All students are expected to comply with the eligibility requirements: 

  • A good ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance Certificate and Work with Children Check; 
  • Ability to work and communicate respectfully with background from different national backgrounds; 

Student is provided upto 12 months to complete the course. Ongoing support is provided to all students to ensure they complete the course within a timely manner

  • Existing workers are encouraged to apply for RPL.
