CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability

The CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability reflects the role of workers in a range of community settings and clients’ homes, who provide training and support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and well-being. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.

What will I learn?

A proficient level of English is required, however your English level will be assessed on application. You will also need to have the following:

  • Should be 18 years old or above
  • The ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
  • Be physically capable to undertake manual and the physical tasks required in this role including manual handling using equipment in an aged care setting.
  • Have the ability to communicate sensitively with a wide background of people
  • have personal attributes necessary including punctuality, personal hygiene and good presentation.
  • If you are undertaking HLTAID003 - PROVIDE FIRST AID training with us, please advise staff prior if you have problems with your back and knees or general mobility. First aid will require you to participate in physical activity which may aggregate existing injuries.

It is required to take Flu Shot before going to Work-Placement because it is a mandatory requirement for some of the facilities.

  • You can also apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and significantly reduce the length of time to receive your qualification

Contact Signature Training for an appointment to understand the course and the eligibility criteria for enrolement. All prospective students are required to attend a face-to-face consultation with our team for enrolement. This is to confirm the following:
  • if you are eligible for the course
  • if you are eligible for any recognition of prior learning (RPL)
  • when you can start
  • arrange a time to have your LLN assessed and to make arrangements to enrol

Existing workers are encouraged to apply for RPL.
